Children who used to be obese, overweight or fat, are prone to have thyroid problems. This is one of the results that the Regional Hospital of Bolzano, Endocrine Society has found out during there study of obese children.
According to the study, the functions and structures of the thyroid problems were altered due to the hormonal imbalances of the thyroid gland. There is a relationship between the body mass and the thyroid level the gland has been producing.
I was then thinking of my cousin, Pauline, a 10-year-old girl, who used to be fat, having more or less 32″ measurement in her waist, when I was reading the article regarding this study. *sigh*
